You have at your disposal either the bright rooms of La Portilla or its versatile grounds, which you can adapt to any kind of event.

Sala Japonesa

It is the heart of the house since Santiago López y Díaz de Quijano enlarged it with this gallery. It keeps the original decoration and structure: the walls decorated with superb paintings with oriental motifs and the glass gallery overlooking the grounds. It was probably the cosiness and brightness that issue from it, the reason why the scenes of the movie «Altamira», premiered in 2016, were filmed here.

Dining room

It is a spacious room dominated by a magnificent Victorian mahogany dining table. It has been traditionally used as the family dining room for breakfasts and dinners during their summer stays.

Rooms

The house has 37 beds arranged in 17 rooms: 5 suites (one of them with a double bed), 8 double rooms, 1 room with 4 beds, 2 rooms with 3 beds and 1 single room; and altogether 8 bathrooms and 3 toilets.
Therefore some rooms are more suitable for adults, and some others for young people and children.

Grounds

A neat collection of clumps of flowers, gravel promenades and a central little square which intertwine throughout the country house. Experience a great day surrounded by centenarian horse chestnut trees, poplars and elm trees, clumps of agapanthus, palm trees, plentiful ivy and those hydrangeas so typical of Cantabria, which will welcome you as you enter the house. The country house has an on-site parking for between 10 and 15 cars.
